Pickleball in Camarillo, California
Camarillo has a strong public court hub at Bob Kildee Community Park, with four dedicated courts, one dual use court, lights, and a paddle rotation that helps solo players join games. Pleasant Valley Recreation and Park District partners with Agape Tennis and Pickleball Academy for clinics, leagues, drill and play sessions, and private lessons at several Camarillo parks.
Where to play pickleball in Camarillo
Bob Kildee Community Park
Bob Kildee Community Park is at 1030 Temple Avenue, Camarillo, CA 93010. The facility has four dedicated pickleball courts and one dual use court, with lights, benches, nearby restrooms, and daily court hours from 7:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. Courts are first come, first served unless district programming is using them. Court 1 operates as a challenge court when enough teams are waiting, while the other courts use a paddle rack rotation when full. Review the official court page and rotation rules before visiting.
Springville Park
Springville Park is at 801 Via Zamora, Camarillo, CA 93010. It has a dual use tennis and pickleball court, lights, benches, and daily hours from 7:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. Public access is first come, first served around district programs, and private reservations are limited to weekends. Check the Springville court page for current programming and closure notices.
Pickleball lessons for beginners
The most specific current start for a new player is Agape's Beginner Clinic at Springville Park on Saturday, September 12, 2026, from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. The clinic costs $25. Use the live Agape event calendar to confirm the clinic and register. If that date does not work, check the same calendar for the next beginner clinic or call the Camarillo program office at 805-312-3394. Private pickleball lessons are also available through the current instructor and rate page.
Open play, leagues, and events
Agape's current September calendar includes drill and play sessions at Springville and Pitts Ranch parks, skill clinics, and a four week women's league at Bob Kildee Park beginning September 11. These are organized programs and require registration or a fee. For informal public play, Bob Kildee's challenge court and paddle rack provide a recurring way to rotate into games whenever enough players are present, but that is not a guaranteed staffed open play session.
Pickleball tips for visitors
A solo visitor should start at Bob Kildee Park, place a paddle in the correct rack, and ask players whether Court 1 is running as the challenge court. The posted system rotates waiting players into games, making this more practical than arriving at an empty court and hoping for partners. Visitors with a group can use any unreserved court or apply for a court permit through the district. Check the program schedule first because classes and leagues can affect public use.
